We know this from studies, and also scientific knowledge showing the percentage of the time the hair is in the treatable phase, the anagen phase. Studies have shown up to 80-90% hair reduction after a full course of treatments. 
  • Multiple treatments will be needed
Most patients will require about 6-8 treatments spaced 6-8 weeks apart for optimal results. This allows the laser to target hairs in the correct phase.
  • Not permanent, but long-term
While often marketed as "permanent," laser hair removal is more accurately described as long-term hair reduction. Some hair regrowth is common, but regrown hair is often lighter and finer. The FDA approves laser hair removal devices, but uses this wording: "permanent hair reduction is the long-term, stable reduction in the number of hairs regrowing after a treatment regime."

One of the speed-in-operation features of the SPLENDOR X is its square-shaped spot sizes, which can reach up to 27x27mm. This design maximises coverage and eliminates the common issue of overlap and hotspots associated with traditional circular spot sizes. The square spots give a more precise and consistent treatment. It achieves this by reducing the likelihood of missed areas and providing even results across the treated skin surface.

WHAT TO EXPECT DURING YOUR TREATMENT

Before Your Treatment

Preparation for laser hair removal includes shaving the treatment area 12-24 hours prior and avoiding sun exposure. Our team will guide you through all necessary pre-treatment steps.

During Your Treatment

Thanks to the advanced cooling technology of our Splendor X laser, you can expect minimal discomfort during the procedure. Each session is quick and efficient, targeting multiple hairs at the same time.

After Your Treatment

Post-treatment, you may notice some redness and swelling, which will typically subside quickly. We recommend applying SPF 50 daily and avoiding sun exposure for two weeks after the treatment.

  • WHAT IS THE BOOKING PROCESS?

    You can book a free laser hair removal consultation by calling us or booking through our online booking system by clicking book now on any page. You will only be able to book a treatment session after having a consultation.


  • WHAT CAN I EXPECT AFTER TREATMENT?

    Post treatment session you may experience some swelling and/or redness, this is normal. You can expect hair reduction with this first session. Subsequent sessions will achieve more hair reduction. We will advise you to avoid the sun and sunbeds between sessions. 

  • IS THERE ANYONE THE TREATMENT IS NOT SUITABLE FOR?

    Pregnant and breastfeeding mothers are excluded from having laser hair removal. Patients on certain medications and patients with medical conditions such as cancer are also excluded. Contraindications will be fully discussed during your consultation with us.

  • CAN MEN HAVE HAIR REMOVAL?

    Yes, we see many male clients for laser hair removal for unwanted hair on their back, chest, and shoulders, as well as facial hair definition. These are some of our most popular treatments, and can have a huge impact on confidence.

  • IS LASER HAIR REMOVAL PAINFUL?

    The SPLENDOR X uses a dual cooling system. The two elements being Cryo-Tip and Cryo-Air. These cool the skin down to make the treatment virtually painless.

  • HOW MUCH DOES LASER HAIR REMOVAL COST?

    It depends on the size of the area you are wanting to treat. You are going to need a course of sessions to see good results. This is the same for all laser hair removal methods. We offer discounted prices for session courses. 

  • IF I HAVE OTHER TREATMENTS, HOW LONG DO I HAVE TO WAIT?

    Please get in touch if you have a specific treatment in mind but, in general, waiting for 2 weeks to have injectable treatments in the same area is advised.


    To mitigate the risk of adverse reactions, we advise waiting two weeks between laser hair reduction and a HydraFacial or a medical-grade peel. Please inform your therapist of your recent aesthetic treatments in the area before treatment commences.

  • IF I HAVE OBAGI NU DERM CAN I STILL HAVE THE TREATMENT?


    Yes, you can proceed with the laser hair removal but must cease products containing active ingredients like salicylic acid, tretinoin and benzyl-peroxide 3 days pre and post-laser hair removal. 

  • IS LASER HAIR REMOVAL A PERMANENT SOLUTION?

    We cannot say that Laser hair removal offers a completely permanent solution. You will see long-term hair reduction. (Somewhere between 80-90% after a course of treatments). The laser device will damage the hair follicles and inhibit future growth. The reason we say this is because your hormonal changes and hair cycles have a bearing on results. 

  • HOW MANY SESSIONS WILL I NEED TO SEE RESULTS?

    You will see results following the first session and about an 80-90% reduction will be achievable after a course of sessions. The reason for this is that we can only target around 20-25% in each session due to the way the hair grows.

  • HOW LONG DOES EACH TREATMENT SESSION TAKE?

    Each hair removal session will take from 5-10 minutes in the case of small areas, and an hour or more in the case of larger areas. Please ask us during the consultation for a better estimate of your hair removal times.

  • CAN I UNDERGO LASER HAIR REMOVAL IF I HAVE TATTOOS?

    If you have tattoos you may still be able to have  laser hair removal, but please ask during your consultation for a proper assessment of the tattoo and area.

  • CAN LASER HAIR REMOVAL BE DONE ON ALL SKIN TYPES AND HAIR COLOURS?

    Yes, the Splendor X device for laser hair removal can be effectively performed on all skin and hair types, thanks to advancements in laser technology.

  • WHAT SHOULD I DO AFTER MY LASER HAIR REMOVAL TREATMENT?

    You will be provided with detailed instructions post-treatment in order for you to get the most out of the session but avoiding the sun and wearing high SPF creams where this is not possible is strongly advised. Please avoid hot environments too.

Altrincham is around 8 miles from the centre of Manchester.

From Manchester take the A56 towards Chester and Old Trafford.

Driving Directions From the South:

Follow the M6 and take the A556 from junction 19 towards Altrincham and the A56. Aesthetica Medical is around 4 miles north along the A56

Driving Directions From the North

Our Altrincham clinic is around 8 miles South West from Manchester along the A56. Travelling from the North West, the A56 can be accessed from the M60.  If travelling from the North East, pick up the M60, then the M56 West and the A560 towards Timperley.



Arriving By Car: 

Aesthetica Medical in Caspian Road, Altrincham is only 10 miles from central Manchester or 8 miles from the M60. We have ample parking at the clinic.
