Side-effects include localised swelling at the injection points, bleeding and less commonly bruising and infection.
Usually minimal, however the injection points can be raised initially after treatment, which takes a few hours to subside.
Profhilo requires two treatments four weeks apart, for optimum results. For a mature client with significant skin laxity and sagging tissue, a third treatment may be required. For maintenance, one session is advised every 3 months or two sessions every 6 months.
Patients can expect increased firmness, elasticity and an overall improved quality of the skin for up to six months.
It is generally a well tolerated and comfortable procedure – the most you will feel is a pin-prick.
Profhilo is generally good for for patients who are experiencing the first signs of ageing, such as wrinkles, fine lines, or loss of firmness. It is also be beneficial for people who are not happy happy with their skin texture, or who have dry or dehydrated skin. It can also be used as a preventative measure for younger patients.
